The Need

Hello everyone, how are you all doing? Since you have clicked and came here to read, I assume that you care about cleanliness and really want to do something about it. A lot of people do not even care about this, even though we should. Everyone knows that there are a lot of cons for not maintaining cleanliness in our home or surrounding areas. In my opinion, cleanliness is a serious concern in our city since we are experiencing an ever-increasing population each day, every day.

Katraj Ghat is a mountain pass located on the southern outskirts of Pune, Maharashtra. It has a history of more than 400 years; it was used during the time of Shivaji Maharaj. You can experience beautiful nature landscapes during the rainy season. Trust me guys, you will feel like staying here and witness serene weather. But, nowadays, the beauty of this ghaat region is depreciating, because people traveling through this region and nearby villagers are not sensible enough to appreciate the value of cleanliness.

A Dream

Sanitation and neatness play a major role in our day to day routine. Diseases like Jaundice, Cholera, Ascariasis, Leptospirosis, Ringworm, Scabies, Schistosomiasis, Trachoma, etc. can be spread due to living in an unhygienic condition. Accumulated trash also spread bad odor which is difficult to tolerate.

A strong team

Keeping all these things in mind a bunch of people saw a dream of clean and beautiful Katraj Ghaat. I joined the team recently. We decided to meet every Sunday and try to clean as much as we can, at least one bag per person. It started with just 5 people on the first Sunday. As of writing this article, 5 weeks have already been completed and I would say some work has already been done, if not a lot. As of last Sunday, we are a strong team of 17 people.

An Appeal

So, work is in progress and it will always be. We need support from you guys. There are a lot of things in our minds. We need helping hands to clean the area, educate villagers in the surrounding area and so on.

On a concluding remark, we appeal you all to come forward and contribute as much as you can. Let’s make this as our own dream and thrive hard to make it a reality.

Thank you. If you like this article, please do not forget to share it across.
